Bathroom Step Stool

I reviewed the step stool from BabyBjorn on my blog www.mummyinthecity.com last year, and after potty training we soon bought another BabyBjorn step stool. There’s no point carrying step stools all over the house, and I think it makes sense to have them in the different bathrooms used by the child. One of ours is downstairs, and my daughter can easily carry the compact BabyBjorn step stool herself, and she regularly moves it to the kitchen, where she likes standing on it when we’re baking, wants to see what I’m cooking, or wants to help do the dishes. We’ve looked at several other step stools and seen others at friends’ houses, but I think the BabyBjorn step stool stands out because of the good grip. It doesn’t move easily because of the rubber edge at the bottom, and in my view, it feels safer than some of the other products I’ve seen on the market.

Designer thoughts “Our basic idea with FÖRSIKTIG stool was to make it practical, easy to clean, attractive to look at, and worth its price. The soft, curved shape is very well suited to children's small feet. We used anti-slip protection on the bottom so the stool always stands steady, and on the top, too, so it isn't slippery. We even had the possibility to use two different colors, which makes the stool look more fun. And the price? Well, it couldn't be better.”Designers Knut Hagberg and Marianne Hagberg:

Use measuring tape to determine center point of stool top. For a 3” wide handle, measure and mark 1 ½” out length-wise from center point to the left and right. Use ½” forstner bit affixed to a drill to drill a hole just to the inside of both of those marks. Use a jig saw to cut between the two holes, completing the handle cut out.
